Limited editions artist’s books, book objects & original prints. Further activities: curating exhibitions, publishing of catalogues
M.K. Publishers is the personal publishing house initiated in 1987 by Mikhail Karasik, an artist, pioneer, ideologist and dedicated promoter of the genre of artist’s books in Russia. It produces limited edition books and book-objects. Mikhail Karasik has published numerous books and catalogues on artist’s books and Russian avant-garde art of the early 20th century. He has authored more than 30 articles on artist’s books and modern art. Under his own imprint, M.K.- Kharmsizdat, Mikhail Karasik initiated a series of avant-garde festivals in St. Petersburg, including the Daniil Kharms festivals (1995-1998). Patronizing artists from St. Petersburg, Moscow, Nizhny Novgorod and Lvov, M.K. Publishers has brought Russian artist’s books to international art fairs regularly since 1997. The almanac of printed graphic art for bibliophiles, OTTISK Imprint, is also a brainchild of Mikhail Karasik.
